tim-manson-headshotMeridian Specialty Yarn Group has named Tim Manson president of the company. Manson joined Meridian in 2003 with the acquisition of Washington Manufacturing Company in Washington, Ga. Prior to his appointment as president, Manson served as vice president of sales.

Meridian Specialty Yarn Group, a subsidiary of Meridian Industries, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wis., operates two production plants in Ranlo and Valdese specializing in novelty yarn manufacturing and yarn dyeing.

The Ranlo plant is a novelty yarn manufacturing operation with, eight yarn forming systems to spin, twist and package yarn for knitters, weavers, industrial and craft yarn distributors.

The Valdese plant specializes in package dyeing and the proprietary Astradye technique of up to five-color space dyeing in an unlimited palette of colors.

Both plants have been certified by IMO for the spinning and dying of DOTS approved organic cotton yarns and use MBDC approved dyes and chemicals for selected recycled spun and textured dyed polyester products.
